As many of you know I am first and foremost a Newborn, Baby & Family photographer, so when Laura & Dean got in touch early last year for me to photograph their special day, I was excited and honoured. Albeit a little nervous at being tasked with playing such a big part in the most important day of their lives.
I have photographed quite a few christenings and parties, so using that as a starting point I researched different styles of wedding photography. I knew almost immediately that I wanted to channel relaxed, candid shots rather than the posed, almost awkward photographs that you tend to see when you look back into your parents wedding album.
I met with Laura & Dean in January for a pre-wedding consultation to discuss their plans for the wedding in detail. I was as excited as they were as we chatted away talking about their pastel mint green colour scheme, VW camper/Helicopter transport, how their puppy Bella was going to walk down the aisle in a specially made tutu, their beautiful venue - it was all the makings of a spectacular day and I couldn't wait to capture it.
