Rosehill House Wedding - September 18 2021 - Luke & Mercedes

'Til death do us part.'

Having known Luke and Mercedes since we were all 5 years old in reception class together, I was just delighted when they asked me to photograph their wedding day.

I arrived in my home town of Oswaldtwistle to a warm September Saturday and bridal prep was in full swing with Mercedes and her girls. The vibe was super chilled whilst I got all my detail shots, including Mercedes' amazing sparkly Jimmy Choos - wedding shoe goals. I nipped over to Luke for some grooms prep shots where he was getting ready with star of the show Rex and brother Ross. The morning was cool and calm. The pace stepped up a gear when I got back to Mercedes as it was time to get into the dress, with the help of the bridesmaids - we were ready. We did a first look Father of the Bride shot and Mercedes seeing her bridesmaids for the first time too.

Straight to St Marys Church for the ceremony (nostalgia for all of us who grew up in this church!). The service was beautiful and was swiftly followed by a group confetti tunnel shot outside along with some family pictures.

Now this is were Luke & Mercedes stepped it up a notch. From the church the newlyweds sped off together in Grandad Henry's classic convertible and we made a pit stop at McDonalds drive thru on the way to the wedding breakfast, ace! Cherry on top, it made front page of the Lancashire Telegraph, what a way to mark your wedding day. After a cheese burger to line their stomachs it was time to celebrate.

We arrived at the venue, Rosehill House Hotel, which can only be described as breath taking. A hidden gem in fact.

We spent some time at the venue having some couple shots then it was time for speeches from father of the bride, best man and Luke which were then followed by food.

Day turned into night and before it was time to dance we snuck off with the bridesmaids and a bottle of wine up to one of the bedrooms to take some photos on the four poster bed. Cake cutting then first dance which was a cover of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac was enough to kick off the evening and from then the dance floor was always full.

I absolutely loved photographing your wedding and witnessing how life just works itself out. Knowing each other for 24 years but only actually finding each other again 6 years ago, isn't that just fate.

Wishing you lots of love and happiness to the new Mr & Mrs Gilrane. Xx
