Pitcalzean House Wedding - August 4th 2022 - Stuart & Anne

Third times a charm and FINALLY in the breathtaking highlands of Scotland, I had the ultimate pleasure of capturing Stuart & Anne's amazing wedding day.

I arrived first thing to blue skies and sunshine lighting up the magnificent Pitcalzen House which was a private venue exclusive to the bride and groom.

Everyone was rallying around preparing for the days celebrations. I headed first to the kitchen where Stuart & Anne had challenged their guests with a 'Great Wedding Bake Off' competition for later in the day. Crêpes were flipping and cakes were being iced.

There was a complete buzz around the house. It had a real "Home Alone" (just before they fly to New York and leave Kevin) type vibe. Everyone was rushing around - chatting, laughing, preparing, pampering, playing. The sun was still shining as we collected conkers and played on the rope swings as the morning rolled on.

All the ladies together headed into what I can only describe as a room from a photographers dream to start bridal prep. Anne was so relaxed as she painted hers & daughter Aurora's nails. We listened to music and then Anne slipped into her dress. Family & friends ready on the lawn at the front of the House and it was time to get married.

The ceremony was the most emotional, heartfelt one I'd documented. With incredibly personal vows and rings designed in secret by Stuart (which blew Anne away). They were finally husband and wife! After signing the register suddenly the heavens OPENED, it didn't just rain, it torrentially p o u r e d. As though fate and the gods giving a little nod of good luck, it stopped as quickly as it came.

Next, we went for a picnic lunch whilst the grass dried off. Everyone had been given their own hamper of tasty food and blankets were laid out in the barn. After this we headed to the walled gardens for a few hours of games in the sunshine. Rounders, badminton, squash, croquet and a mound of competitiveness which made it so much more fun to capture.

It was soon early evening and a gorgeous golden sun was setting. In the words of Anne - we 'frolicked' ;) in the field for a while. Then some delicious stone baked pizzas were served.

We had a cool take on "cutting the cake" as we all gathered around to judge the earlier prepared bakes for the competition. 3 year old Henry was the first to taste the rainbow cake as everyone eagerly awaited his approval!

Back to the barn where it was party time - dancing, laughs, hugs and lots of fun with the photo booth props.

Possibly my favourite wedding to date.

Thank you for trusting me to document your awesome wedding Stuart & Anne. From watching your day unfold, its clear to see that your complete love and adoration for eahcother will stand the test of time. Here's to a lifetime more of happiness.
