On Saturday 11th August 2018 Sarah & Dave said 'I do' at the luxury 4 star Macdonald Hotel nestled in the heart of the city of Manchester.
Sarah approached me last summer 2017 to photograph her wedding day. I was so looking forward to capturing a city wedding.
The day kicked off with perfect clear blue skies and warm sunshine. Both the bride and groom were staying in the hotel. I began the day with the bridal party, capturing all of the laughs, tears, nerves and excitement - Sarah & Dave's daughters Holly & Amelia kept everybody giggling through makeup and hair with their singing and dancing!
On to the groomsmen where I spent time photographing them preparing for the big day.
The ceremony was set in a beautifully dressed room with a white carpet aisle, scattered in rose petals and lined with candles, a wonderful atmosphere set by a string quartet playing songs throughout. The guests arrived and a buzz filled the room, the ceremony was heartfelt and beautiful, a real family affair.
The wedding party went on to enjoy a champagne drinks reception in the hotel bar, whilst the hotel was quiet we took the opportunity (and several confetti canons!) and emerged onto the front steps of the hotel for a fantastic group confetti shot.
I took Sarah & Dave into the city for some couple shots, we were spoilt for choice with locations and bagged some fantastic pictures.
Next was the Wedding Breakfast were speeches commenced the afternoon. Dave went first and I caught many guests with tissues, wiping away tears as he spoke about his new wife Sarah. Best Man Paul had the guests giggling - mainly at the expense of brother/groom Dave!
The afternoon continued into the evening and the bride & groom cut their beautiful cake and then took to the dance floor to True Colours from hit movie Trolls.
