Greenhill Hotel Wedding - October 2nd 2021 - Tim & Somer

'With you, I'm living in a day dream.'

It was the first Saturday in October, and I arrived first thing in the morning to photograph what was set to be the wedding of the year. The rain was forecast all day but that wasn't dampening any spirits - Somer & Tim had waited patiently for their wedding day and it was finally here.

Bridal prep was full steam ahead at Beauty Beyond on Gretna High Street, all the ladies in the family where split between here and Bliss Salon where it was make up and hair a go go. Somer's little girl Amari joined us late morning for some curls in her hair and was definitely centre stage.

I nipped to meet Tim and his lads locally at Gretna Inn for some shots and, erm, shots! The banter was flowing amongst them and I just knew the day was going to be spot on.

Once glammed up, it was time to head to parents of the brides home to get into the dress. We had a gorgeous first look Dad shot and bridesmaids too - then it was time for the church.

Somer arrived in style in a Rolls after being played in by the bag pipes. Holding back the tears, she wowed as she stepped out of the car. Now, Tim's reaction to seeing his soon to be wife was GOLDEN. He completely crumbled.

After a gorgeous ceremony, it was straight out to the front of the church for confetti and straight onto the coaches to Greenhill Hotel.

The venue was a stunning hotel with gorgeous gardens, highland cows and beautiful internal decor. The rain at this point wasn't letting up but we braved a full group shot together outside, then quickly dashed off to set off the smoke canons - these were epic and so much fun.

Speeches, food and cake cutting followed. Then out came the HUGE MASSIVE GLOW STICKS, now the party had started, queue actual dance off. So awesome.

First dance to Leona Lewis', You are the Reason where Tim & Somer's little girl joined in with them. Then a hugely emotional father daughter dance which had everyone welling up. Best move ever to bring the vibe back up was whacking on Gerry Cinnamon's Belter, from this moment on the dance floor was full. It was without a doubt a celebration worth waiting for and Im so glad you got your day.

Congratulations to the NEW Mr & Mrs Massey and thank you for trusting me with your day, it was an honour.
